Eric Alan McCloskey, 24, lovingly known to his family and friends as “Bubba”, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, August 5^th, 2010 at his residence, 1425 S. Walnut Street APT#2 in Bloomington, Indiana. Bubba was born March 16, 1986 in Indianapolis, IN.  He is survived by his parents John McCloskey and Rebekah Wilton-McCloskey; sister Leah Beebe all of Bloomington, IN; grandparents John and Joan McCloskey of Whitestown, IN; Linda Barchet, Chris O’Donnell, Wilma Wagner and Tom Hinkle of Bloomington, IN; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and his beloved puppy “Ray”.   Bubba in his formative years was active in student council and Boy Scouts Troop “100”. He graduated form Bloomington High School South in 2004. He had been employed full time at Steak-N-Shake as a shift manager trainee.   He enjoyed back packing, camping, flying on his bike and just communing with nature. He especially loved swimming and running. In spring 2010 he ran “The Coach Hep Challenge” a 5K and he placed 7^th with a time of 21 minutes and 43 seconds. He dreamed of someday hiking the Appalachian Trail. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and just sharing simple pleasures of life.   May he be remembered for his love of his family and his friends, his big and kind heart, his love of animals and nature, his endless sense of humor, and his smile and laughter.   A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Sunday, September 26^th, 2010 at the home of his parents located at 8845 S. Lee Phillips Rd., Bloomington, IN. A pitch in meal will follow the service.   The family request that donations can be made to the Monroe County Humane Society or City of Bloomington Animal Shelter in memory of “Bubba”.
