Location:VirginiaDear Scott and family:
John and I went way, way back -- I think we were in kindergarten together at University School. I had hoped he would be at the centennal celebration of IU's Ernie Pyle School of Journalism in September, but he wasn't. I should have called him then. All my memories of him are good ones. Bless his soul.

Location:TampaDear Claire and Scott,
I am so sorry to hear of John's passing. He and Mike Myers were great friends of mine from the class of 1958 at UHS. John did some great impressions - not the least of which was Judy Garland!
Words can't really compensate for heartbreak, but you are in my thoughts.
Dave

Dear Scott & Claire,
I was so sorry to learn of your brother's passing. He was a bit older than me, so I never really knew him that well, but I remember him having that great Mahan sense of humor.
I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Location:Madison, WII am saddened to learn of John's passing. He and I were fraternity brothers at Indiana University and one I remember fondly. I regret the paths we took after graduation prevented our continuing that association. It was my loss. Goodbye, my Brother.
