Lawrence I. Collier, 84, of Bloomington died on Monday, April 5, 2010 at Bloomington Hospital.  He was born on November 26, 1925 in Morgan County the son of Charles “Bird” and Flossie M. (Kaywood) Collier.  He was a longtime timber buyer for Hoosier Veneers and an avid woodsman.  He loved to fish and enjoyed hunting, just being outdoors.  He was an accomplished craftsman in woodworking, making beautiful pieces of furniture.  He was a member of the Church of Christ and attended the Highland Village Church of Christ.

          Survivors include his daughter, Linda Tinch of Brooksville, FL and his step-daughter, Diane Baker of Connersville, three grandsons; David Tinch, Troy Tinch and Travis Tinch, two step-grandchildren, Tonya Brooks and Steven Baker, five great grandchildren; David, Jacob, Anna, Logan and Stone Tinch and five step-great grandchildren; Sophia, Samuel and Secilia Brooks and Ali and Zachary Baker.  He is also survived by three brothers, Clarence Collier, Charles Collier and Leroy Collier.

          He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret (Burkhart) Collier, his daughter, Alice Collier and several brothers and sisters.

          Funeral services will be at 6:00 p.m. today at Allen Funeral Home, 4155 S. Old St. Rd. 37 with Bro. Kim Nibert officiating.  Burial services will be at 12:00 p.m. Saturday at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Brooksville, IN.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00-6:00 p.m. today.
