Margaret Elaine (Cloutier) Bidwell, 83, of Bloomington died Sunday morning surrounded by loving family. She was born on November 16, 1926 to Paul Joseph and Genevieve (Benson) Cloutier in a small village called Graceville Minnesota. She came to Bloomington in 1946 and on her first day in town she met Ronald Bidwell from which a love was born that both spanned and created generations.  April 18th is the 63rd anniversary of their wedding.

Upon her first coming to Bloomington, she worked as a lab technician at Bloomington Hospital and later then worked at Bryan Park Pool and also at True Value Hardware.  Most importantly however, she was devoted to her family- a nurturer, protector and teacher who taught best by example.  All who entered her home felt her love and compassion and no one ever left hungry.

She spent countless hours volunteering for school, church and community activities during her life and she was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Center.

Margaret is survived by her husband, Ronald I. Bidwell, her children, sons Ron Bidwell and wife Liz of Columbus, IN, Tom Bidwell (Rich) of Chicago, IL, daughters Ann Bidwell (Jim), Lisa Bidwell (Ken), and Jan Sexton (Rocky), all of Bloomington, twenty-one grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters; Lois, Betty and Harriet.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Paul’s Catholic Center at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday with Father Rich Litzau officiating.  Friends may greet the family at the church following the services.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenfuneralhome.org.

I have never met Lisa's mom but know Lisa well. She is SO bright and so very competent. It's a true pleasure to have worked with her all these years. I feel sure she learned much of her practicality and passion for what she does from her mom. At least I choose to think so. Lisa...I don't know anyone else in your family (well, your kids a little) but I do hope you know my thoughts are with you. It really hurts to lose a parent (even if one does breathe a bit of a sigh of relief!). Lean on those kidlets through this. You'll be surprised at how they come through. Eileen
